The Day After

The day after Hugo's passing, the loopy old woman howled almost non-stop. I immediately started to worry that she was either lonely or had gone over the deep end. So to keep her company, Ray and I have been spending some time with her in the cat room (after moving the cat food to higher ground).
I think the situation is going to work out. Although I'm a little worried about the blind dog inadvertently launching himself atop the frail little deaf cat when she isn't expecting company.
Really? You think this is a replacement for HUGO?

He better not try to sleep in any of my beds
Lookit old woman, I'm just trying to help
He sure takes up a lot of real estate
I want Hugo back

  1. I want Hugo back too Moon Pie. I never met any of you in person but you feel like "my pets". I too was shocked to hear that Hugo was gone. I hope mom and Ray are a little comfort and company for you Moonie. I'm still sad we lost our Freddy 2 weeks ago and now Hugo. Sad, but, I'm glad we had them to love. Hugs, Moon Pie.

    1. Oh NO. So sorry about Freddy. There is always that consolation, though, isn't there. At least we had them for a while.

    1. Well, Moonie does not call Ray old woman (as far as I know) so I think you are safe in assuming.

  4. Ray, the more we see ya the more we like ya mate. Good to see you doing your best to help your little kitty out. We've got a 14 year old kitty sissy butt she can be a little grumpy and for some reason, she doesn't like to play chasey, sigh. Take care mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  5. Love these captions! Poor Moonie. Hopefully Ray's presence really did help ease the hurt of Hugo's passing. But Moonie is right - Ray really does take up a LOT of real estate! lol

    1. I got up in the middle of the night last night and Moonie was sleeping on the chair downstairs next to Ray's couch. It's just so SAD.

  6. Awwww, poor Moonie. A blind hound is a poor substitute for a house panther.
