They always know...

I was hosting a Do Day, a day when anyone with a project could come over for a couple of hours and work on it. Three people had taken me up on the offer and we were having a good time. Ray of course was thrilled because all three of the people were on his 'favorites' list, which, granted, is rather lengthy.
After enthusiastically greeting each, Ray decided to sit in the only logical place, with the only person in the room who didn't particularly care for dogs.
"How do animals always know which person in the room doesn't like them?" asked my friend, Betty.
"I don't know," I replied, "But they always do."
What do you mean she doesn't like dogs?

Of course she likes dogs!
As a matter of fact, I'm quite sure she loves dogs!

  1. It's not that I don't like dogs, it's just that I'm glad they aren't mine. Animal dander and I are not the best of friends. Had a wonderful time and the fun out weighs any unsolicited snuggling. Besides, who can't love Ray?

    1. They always know who's allergic too. Glad you had a good time and I love the phrase "unsolicited snuggling." Very descriptive.

  2. You have tissues on the back of the sofa and Ray nor the cats ever both them???

It is a scientific fact that dog and/or cat non-enthusiasts give off more body heat. I can see why Ray chose to snuggle up to your friend. (I've never actually done any research on this, nor do I know anyone that has, but it sounds like a pretty sound theory.)

    1. *bother* them. Good gravy. The sad thing is, I proofread this twice...

    2. Ray has grown out of the tissue box phase (if you read his blog from the first 6 months or so, you will see that there was definitely a tissue phase.)
Juno got her head stuck in the tissue box one too many times and finally gave up bothering it. Harvey was never interested, he's too busy doing other things. I think he may be building a spaceship or something, he is the busiest cat I've ever had.
I totally believed your scientific fact until you said that you'd not done any research on it. I am SO gullible.

    3. I wondered if anyone would notice the kleenex on the back of the sofa. I probably should have stashed it before I had guests over. I'm just so used to it being there, I don't even notice it anymore. Kinda like the chair on the coffee table.

    4. I notice things like that because of past dogs and now, Blueberry. She would have eaten the box, but left the tissues. Cardboard is her favorite non-food item.
