Christmas Revisited

This morning I was doing one of my favorite things; watching old videos of Ray. Of course, I use the term 'old' rather loosely since, in fact, we have only had him for three years. When I do this, I find myself trying to decide which is my favorite Ray-vid; the one that, if I could only have one on a desert island (or even better, a dessert island), which one I would take with me. I always come back to this.

So I am posting it here again for your enjoyment. A moment of Christmas in August, as it were. I think this video captures the very essence of Ray. His love of presents, bone-burying, a game of keep-away around the coffee table, and his sheer joie-de-vivre.

I would be very interested, if anyone would like to leave a comment, as to which Ray-vid is your favorite. The comment box awaits.

  1. I don't remember watching this one before...but I enjoyed all aspects of it.....Ray is one of my favourite movie stars, he conveys so much with his facial expressions, words are not needed :-)

  2. I swear Ray can see. He moves so well he must have at least some perriferal vision or bat like sonar or something!! He even gives really good stink eye while opening the raccoon!!
But he is SO a little kid with his presents. New Toys! New Toys! Who wants to play? Who wants to play?? MINE, ALL Mine!!
No wonder you love that video, and that dog!!

    1. I forget sometimes that Ray can't see, right up until the moment when he runs smack into something.

    2. If you want to see some other blind dogs and how well they function, go to youtube and type in acd6pack. One of Ray's fans has a six-pack of australian cattle dogs, three of which are blind. (Although I'm pretty sure that the latest blind puppy she adopted makes it a seven-pack).

  3. Love it including the music - the brilliant burying accompaniment part must be more than coincidence?

  4. I love, love this video. He is just so happy it's Christmas morning that he can't contain himself. Yet, also wary, watching you that you don't see his "hiding" spot. I also love the July 4th yelling video.

    1. Ray does like his holidays (well, maybe not Halloween). But I KNOW that Christmas is his favorite. If you haven't seen it, he has one from his first Christmas. It's pretty much the same. Pure joy at getting gifts. For a dog with a sad hound face his sure is a happy happy dog.
